Dr. Jennifer Walden has accomplished many things in her medical career, including being a peer honored esthetic plastic surgeon and consultant to leading aesthetic companies. But perhaps the most notable achievement of her career is creating a wonderful balance between her work and family.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Dr. Walden graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with degree in science before graduating salutatorian in earning her therapeutic doctorate from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Walden was then chosen for a fellowship at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York. She stayed in New York for eight years, working alongside noted aesthetic plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell Aston.
But the pull of motherhood was tugging at Dr. Walden. It was at this point in 2011 that she chose to return to Texas to continue her career in plastic surgery and begin a family. Blessed with fraternal twin sons Houston and Rex, Dr. Walden has made many of her decisions with a family first mentality. For example, she has situated her office and home close to the children’s school to simplify things as much as possible for the family. The move to Texas has worked out sensationally for both her family and career. She is one of the top plastic specialists in Texas, having been featured in the publications American Way, Harper’s Bazaar and Texas Monthly.
It is Dr. Walden’s dedication to innovation and technology that continues to keep her at the forefront of her profession. She utilizes an industry-driving, 3-D imaging innovation called Vectra that can help a patient see the potential results before surgeries like rhinoplasties or breast augmentations. With 92 percent of cosmetic surgery patients being women, Dr. Walden uses her family balance and life experience to create a bond with potential clients, putting nervous patients at ease before their life improving procedure.
