Medicare Advantage Plans in North America

Medicare Advantage is Medicare program that serves as a substitute for Original Medicare. Private organizations provide Medicare Advantage Plans. The plans, sometimes referred to as Part C, are offered under Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). Unlike in Original Medicare where the government settles the benefits, Medicare Advantage Plans are paid for by the Medicare through the private companies.

Medicare benefits constitute parts that are offered by different Medicare Plans. Part A covers for in-patient medical services. However, it does not include services from surgeons and physicians. They are part of Part B of the Medicare benefits, which also covers outpatient hospital services such as diagnostics tests and X-ray.

Original Medicare constitute of Parts A and B. Most of the Medicare Advantage Plans, as sometimes may be referred to as Part C, extend the covers to Part D. The part of the Medicare includes the prescription drug benefit plan. These plans that have Part D are known as Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan (MAPD). It is worth noting that Medicare makes separate payments to MAPD.

InnovaCare: An Innovation in Healthcare

InnovaCare Health is a leading provider of Medicare Advantage plans and physician practice services. Medicare advantage plans, also known as Medicare private health plans, contract with the federal government. They are paid a fixed amount per person to provide their clients with Medicare benefits. The three most common types of Medicare Advantage Plans are: Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), and Private-For-Fee-Service (PFFS).

Some of them provide additional benefits like vision and hearing care. Medicare Preferred Provider Organizations are Medicare Advantage Plans. The client is responsible for paying a set copay for in-network providers. In addition to providing Medicare benefits, some PPOs may provide additional benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover like dental and vision care. Private-For-Fee-Service plans are Medicare Advantage Plans that a person can enroll in a different way to obtain their Medicare benefits. These plans have to all services that a person would get under Original Medicare. Inpatient services is Part A and outpatient services is Part B. There are certain physicians practice services that are covered by Medicare Advantage Plans.

Medicare Advantage Plans have to cover all of the services that Original Medicare must cover except for care people receive when they are dying. Original Medicare will cover the expense of this care even if a person has a Medicare Advantage Plan. No matter what Medicare Advantage Plan a person has, a client is covered for emergency and urgent care. The plan can choose not to cover the expense of services that are not medically necessary A Medicare Advantage Plan might provide other services such as vision, hearing, dental, and/other health and wellness programs. As I mentioned, InnovaCare is a leading provider of Medicare Advantage plans and physician practice services.
