Yani Hufnagel’s Career As Basketball Coach Has Been Nothing Short Of Magical

Continuing with his fantastic run as a basketball coach Yani Hufnagel recently joined up with Nevada Wolf Pack, which has worked out beautifully for him. What’s been truly wonderful over the last year that he has spent in that position is the fact that he got to coach alongside none other than Coach Eric Musselman.

 

His previous and equally successful coaching assignments have been with the California Golden Bears, Vanderbilt Commodores and Harvard Crimson as assistant coach. Over the years he has acquired a formidable reputation as one of the top recruiters in college basketball.

 

Born Jewish Hufnagel was brought up in Scarsdale, New York. He played basketball as a sophomore for Junior University and later took over commentating on behalf of the team on the local school access cable TV channel. He went on to earn a B.Sc in Industrial and Labor Relations. He next studied at the University of Oklahoma where he was the graduate assistant coach on behalf of the Sonner’s Men’s basketball team.

 

In the year 2009, he made the big move to Harvard Crimson men’s basketball program as an assistant coach and recruiter under the stewardship of Tommy Amaker. In 2013 began his stint as assistant coach with Vanderbilt Commodores and helped hem obtain the 29th ranked 2014 recruiting class. His California Golden Bears coaching stint began in 2014, and he helped the win a 2016 NCCA Tournament berth. He joined his current coaching assignment with the University of Nevada Wolf Pack men’s basketball team in 2016 and has been playing a stellar role as assistant coach.

 

Going by his past string of successes and his total commitment to his job, there is no doubt about the fact that Wolf Pack is going to see many successes in the seasons ahead. After all, that is what Hufnagel does best.
