Securus Technologies Unveils Intriguing Press Release Campaign

In 1998, Global Tel Link (GTL) ran into some trouble in Louisiana over billing issues associated with inmate calls in the state. Essentially, minutes – and costs – were added to the bills of these inmates. While the incident happened many years ago, the CEO of Securus Technologies, Richard A. Smith, asserts – via a press release – the event is relevant today. The reason is the past events correlate to circumstances that exist in the current prison communications industry today.

The Louisiana Public Service Commission (PSC) issued a report about GTL that highlighted such actions as “single phone calls” being “billed more than once. Smith reveals Securus Technologies wants to help raise public awareness about these matters.

Securus Technologies, among the top communications services in the correctional facilities sector, will be released a number of press releases over the coming six months. The purpose of the press releases will be to raise awareness about “wrongdoings” on the part of GTL.

Headquartered in Dallas, Securus Technologies continues to develop and release new products and services for the correction facilities industry. The company has produced a number of helpful products for inmates including advanced apps designed to improve their ability to communicate with friends and family.

Medicare Advantage Plans in North America

Medicare Advantage is Medicare program that serves as a substitute for Original Medicare. Private organizations provide Medicare Advantage Plans. The plans, sometimes referred to as Part C, are offered under Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). Unlike in Original Medicare where the government settles the benefits, Medicare Advantage Plans are paid for by the Medicare through the private companies.

Medicare benefits constitute parts that are offered by different Medicare Plans. Part A covers for in-patient medical services. However, it does not include services from surgeons and physicians. They are part of Part B of the Medicare benefits, which also covers outpatient hospital services such as diagnostics tests and X-ray.

Original Medicare constitute of Parts A and B. Most of the Medicare Advantage Plans, as sometimes may be referred to as Part C, extend the covers to Part D. The part of the Medicare includes the prescription drug benefit plan. These plans that have Part D are known as Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan (MAPD). It is worth noting that Medicare makes separate payments to MAPD.
